GOV. OKOWA AND THE FEAR OF TOMORROW.
GOV. OKOWA AND THE FEAR OF TOMORROW.
"Anybody who must be Governor must be ready to be fair, equitable to all Deltans. We will not have a Governor who will place a ban on Anioma People. In the next one month, we will start the politics." - Gov. Okowa.
Tomorrow is yet to come yet, Okowa is already afraid of tomorrow and what it may bring upon his people. Gov. Okowa after setting bad precedence of nepotism and ethnicity he's already afraid of what would befall his Anioma people as if he even sees every Anioma people as one people.
Ask Gov. Okowa, the champion of nepotism and ethnicity if he even recognizes the Ndokwa and Kwale people as one Anioma people. Because I know those people and their terrains very well. I know of their complaints, their pains and total neglect. I have talked with them, they enumerate their pains, I have heard them all and I can feel their pains.
We all know where Okowa interest lies. Okowa intentionally sidelined every other tribe except his Ika people. He knows that the precedence he sets would definitely haunt his people and he quickly jumpstarts by saying he needs someone who would carry his people along because he and his Government are already fading away as new Dawn is what the rest he marginalized look up to.
Urhobo has a proverb that says, "ukö avwo vwa vwa mé kaye okpako, onyi aji kan vwo vwa vwa mé ki anye otëtë." In interpretation, it is the same cup a man uses to measure water for senior wife he'd also use to measure water for his junior wife. In that wise, the new wife shouldn't expect much but more of the same.
If Gov. Okowa likes, let him take strong oath with whosoever he thinks he would hand over to to do his biding in the most dangerous shrine. If he likes, they should come from same coven, cult, or drink same water or blood from same cup or Calabash in same shrine that the person must do his biding; he must understand that change is constant. If Chris Ngige of Anambra could turn his back at Chris Mba after their strong oath at Okija Shrine, I wonder why no one would turn his back at you after marginalizing his own people.
Even if it's Ijaw man that takes over from him, he shouldn't think that a typical ijaw man that I know is a fool. He cannot bring the oil producing areas money to your people and give to them after marginalizing all and sundry to the advantage of his kinsmen at the expense of others. Ijaw man is not a fool and he'd never be a fool because of you.
And coming to the Urhobo people you've taught them real practical politics that everyone would definitely remember. So, you don't need to be afraid of tomorrow for your people because you know what's to come when your reign is over.
However, do your part and leave. You have set a precedence and others have to follow. From next year, no one would ever think about you again as we already looking towards the next election. You'd become past to many from next year while they talk about tomorrow as they look back and see the bad precedence you set, how you treat them and their own people. Truly, Power is transient. It can never remain in the hands of one man forever but just a while. So, enjoy it while it lasts.
You need not to be afraid of tomorrow for your people. Think of spending your tomorrow with your grand kids. You have done your part let destiny take charge of tomorrow. Everyone needs to learn from you and your Government of full fledged nepotism and ethnicity.
If not guilty conscience, that you really know exactly what you did and still willing and ready to do to others if given another chance, why would you be afraid of tomorrow for your people? "Destiny" according to the popular movie 'The Last Kingdom,' "is all."
Howbeit, you need not to be afraid of tomorrow for your people as Destiny is all.
Thank you.
God bless you.
God bless Delta State.
